|Bruce Shattuck SHATTUCK Mr. Bruce T. Shattuck, age 81 years, passed away on Thursday, November 8, 2012. He was born to Wm. E. and Marion Shattuck in Syracuse, New York. Bruce was a decorated Marine veteran who fought in the Battle of the Chosin Reservoir, Korea, with the 1st Marine Division 1st Marines, and fought under the command of Chesty Puller. After returning from Korea, Bruce attended Syracuse University where he studied Law and played football for the Syracuse Orangemen. After college Bruce joined the New York State Police Department and was assigned to Troop "D". He was then approached to consider a new career in the medical field, in Research Development. Bruce was the inventor of several patented medical devices currently used in hospitals all over the world. He was employed with Johnson and Johnson, Becton Dickinson, and retired from Kinetic Concepts, Inc. as Executive Director of National Sales. Bruce was preceded in death by a son: Bruce T. Shattuck Jr.; his parents and a brother, William Shattuck. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Lorraine Bryant Shattuck; daughters: Patricia Troup (Stephen), Shannon Shattuck Robles (Roger); sons: Thomas H. Shattuck (Sharon), Casey St. J. Shattuck (Julie); 16 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Tuesday at 6:00 P.M. in The Angelus Chapel with a Memorial Rosary to be recited at 7:00 P.M. A Memorial Mass will be offered Wednesday at 1:15 P.M. at St. Matthew's Catholic Church. Inurnment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with military honors.
